Just bought 2 tranny's both 4 spd, they look different, cable connection are different, housings are a little different. One looks just like the one in our 86 SE v6. Are there any numbers on the housing we should look for?

I am going to assume you are talking automatic transmissions, if not, disregard

Some easy ways of telling a 3 speed auto and a 4 speed auto are. The 3 speed has a side cover that covers only about half of the side of the trans, The 4 speed has a side cover that completly covers the side and even goes around the one axle seal.

The 4 speed has a TV cable and Vacuum diaphram, the 3 speed only has TV.

They are manual tranny's, I was told that one of them might be a 410.
