Where is the relay located that allows the electric rear deck pop to operate only when the car is off (or with the e-brake up on manual trans)?

The power trunk relay is located left side of the center console under the dash. Mine is white, about 1" square, has three prongs on it. I don't know if it is an interlock relay but I think it is the only relay in the trunk pop circut. I've got an '86 4cyl.with auto trans.

Somehow on a manual trans, this relay is only grounded with the ignition off (or e-brake engaged). Is one of these wires THAT ground wire?

If you are having problems finding the relay remove the switch from the instrument cluster and follow the wires. It is held in place by 4 screws and pulls straight out. You can then use a flashlight to look into the cluster to see where the wires go.
