Haven't gotten less than 220 miles out of a tank yet...and I am almost always doing over 3000 rpms....damn I wish I had a 5 speed...of course, if I accelerated without putting the pedal all the way down or did less than 85 on the freeway I'm sure I'd get better gas mileage...but that takes all the fun out of driving Oh, yeah, thats in my '85 GT V6 4 speed
I once stopped in Talent, Oregon and filled-up the tank right to the rim of the fuel nozzel and headed south on Hwy 5 back to California. I reset my odometer and during the trip I did not make one stop. I ran out of gas exactly 285 miles down the road. I averaged 70 mph. This was in my '88GT. It was recently tuned-up and had new tires. If I were doing stop&go driving my milage would have been far less, of course. But this at least gives you an idea of the outer limits.
Fortunately, I have made a habit of carrying a gallon of gas in the trunk on long trips.

In the city, stop and go traffic I get about 160 miles per tank on highway only driving I get about 280 miles per tank. I like to push the pedal and on highway driving I don't go below 85 if I can help it. From San Francisco to LA in 4 hours flat.
WOOOOO!!! That's a lot of answers, thank you guys!! If I'm right, I think that the average would be about 200Miles per tank. I wasn't able to drive with a complete tank because of my (a long time ago) broken clutch and then my complete restoration, but I had 120miles and my niddle was exactely in the middle of the gas gauge...
Other answers are welcomed!!

I generally fill up about every 200 miles. That is when my gauge gets to 1/4. I am lucky in that I seem to have one of the few gas gauges that registers correctly. When I fill up at 1/4 tank, I usually have a couple of gallons left in the tank.

I have an 87 2.5 with a/t, and on my last trip to Gainesville (Gator Country) from Port Charlotte, I filled it up with 10.4 gallons and went 300 miles, averaged 75 mph, no air running. Coming back with the radio on, I got only 290 miles. Guess I'll have to get rid of the radio.....

When I was commuting in stop and go traffic on the SF Peninsula, I was getting ~240 miles on a tank full (I still had some gas left in the tank and these were usually about 8.5-9 gallon fills). I almost never ran the A/C, but the radio got used a lot.
The car's an 87 GT 5-speed.
