Well, my mom told me she didn't know what to get me for xmas. I didn't know either, so I spent the weekend thinking about it and came up with an alarm/keyless entry system for my car. Although, I don't know what to get. Only one i've ever really heard about is Viper. Any thoughts, suggestions, anything at all?

I ordered a factory GM system for mine. I haven't put it in yet because it has so many dang wires! I have only seen one Fiero with factory security system. After I watched Chris Pond click the button on his keychain to get in the car, I had to have one!

Just do a search on eBay for GM security system. There were quite a few different types so e-mail the seller before you buy to make sure you get one that is for your particular Fiero.

I just got this one, http://www.crimestopper.com/cs2015.html
Haven't decided yet if I am going to put it on my bike or in my Fiero, so I can't comment on how good it is. I like the fact that the key fob doubles as a pager.

Without a doubt I would buy a Viper. I have been a dealer and Installer for over 10 years and have tried many brands in that time. Viper is the only brand I will now use. In that same amount of time I have only seen a handfull of their product bad. They are not paying me to tell you to buy their product I just stand behind it that much as a dealer and Installer.

If you are just looking for keyless entry, then I'd suggest the kit from JC Whitney. My girlfriend gave me one for my birthday and I love it! It locks/unlocks the door, opens the decklid, and can be wired to lock/unlock the doors when you start/shut off your car. It seems to be a good quality kit. The key fob is a nice size and has molded buttons instead of buttons with pictures that rub off. If you don't HAVE to have an alarm, I'd highly recommend going this route. Alarms are a pain in the ass in my opinion. Especially when your trasnponder battery decides to die when your alarm is armed. If someone wants to steal your car, they'll back up a tow truck and take it...alarm or not. There's a good article about this kit on the Michigan Fiero Club web page.

I just installed one of the JC Whitney keyless kits and love it...$50 bucks shipped and is well worth it if you decide against the alarm...

I've been looking at these units also. Just hate to stoop and use the tiny key on the door when you could just hit a button and look like you've gotta fairly modern car .

I'm not complaining, but it seems like a must...for me at least.
