I'm redoing the sunroof panel on my Formula. I need to know the correct kind of adhesive to stick the panel down along the front window pillars.

It should be available at most auto parts places in a tube or big tube for a caulking gun. It is called butyl sealant and probably in a bunch of brand names.

Replacement windshield tape, comes in a roll. Just get the largest size available (3/8ths I think) and double-up with it. It's easier to work with than the tubes.

Nooooooooooooo if you are talking what I am thinking no way,the backing for the headliner must be done right or in weeks it will fall down.

After taking the headliner down peel off the old material some time it leaves the backing with a spongy material now take a brush and rub off the spongy residue until clean.Lay the backing down and spray or brush on contact cement on the backing and the backside of the new material and let them dry,it is best to have a next person to lay it down straight or you will have a problem.
Catch the middle and smooth out to the edges then trim excess material then turn over and tack edges.3M sells the adhesive in a Black can and it run $about $11 for the best one or buy a gallonofcontact cement (in a red & white tin with a cow on it)that is what the shops use the auto store is garbage and a waste of money....have fun and don't inhaleor you will get High.

How in God's name did you read headliner into this? My headliner doesn't go down the front window pillars...does yours?

PS. No disrespect intended, just set me to wondering.

Correct, I was talking about the sunroof *body* panel.

In all fairness to Speedlogic, more people do the headliner than the roof panel.

This is sort of on topic.
My A pillar is coming up on the lower driver's side. I noticed it when I removed the drip rail from that side. It's not real bad, but I'd like to get it glued down good, and I wasn't planning on removing the roof panel. Can I just shoot some of that glue under there, or should I remove the roof section, clean it up, and re-glue it?
