I received a technical data package
from Fageol superchargers for the
2.8 engine with TBI (Pontiac, GM, Chev S10)
That really looks like they have the
bolt on parts to supercharge my 2.8 http://www.fageolsuperchargers.com/

They won't warrant that it will work
on the Fiero because they have not tried
it. I beleive it can be done, easily.
using the parts they listed as in stock
for the 2.8
The cost, according to their price sheet
and quote, will be $1350.00 complete with
2.8 manifold adapter. Supercharger itself
is about $950.00 (new)

I have talked with them also, The can make a plate for a 4-bbl carb. The total cost is around $2000 which also includes all the pulleys and other small items needed. I have all the mechanical drawings for the supercharger. With a 4-bbl carb, The aircleaner would stick up about 2" higher than the decklid so a scoop or hole needs to be done. You can get pulleys to produce 5, 7, or 9 pounds of boost. The only other Fiero problem is the thermostat housing needs to be a custom part to allow room for the drive snout.
The 2" belt system needs to be used, The 3" belt won't fit.

A carb is not an option in Calif.
I would treat a supercharged
fiero with a carb like the plague,
something out of an antique bin.
There is no reason for not using injection

Well then why use a Fageol supercharger? The RSM kit, a Paxton, or a Vortec supercharger would be better suited for the Fiero 2.8L with injection. The Fageol is a roots type designed for carb or TBI. There isn't enough room for port injection since the 60* V-6 intake manifolds form the back side of the heads. You would spend way too much money on having custom things made to use port injection with the Fageol? In Calif. It would be better to use port injection instead of TBI for emissions sake. Also TBI would require an aftermarket controller where using the port system on a Fiero, You would just need to have a PROM burned for your application.

I'd have to side with Orief on this one. Why discard your TPI system for a 4 BBL carburetor which will kill mileage, emissions and perforamce. If you are stopped by the police you could be fined for EPA violations big time. Most 4 bbl carbs will almosty certainly be too large for a a 173 cubic inch engine anyway.
Supercharging is well done on the 3800 engine and the RSM kit will work fine (if you don't mind losing your A/C). I believe that a Roots supercharger approach for a 2.8L can work but allot of machining might be required..
Why not just add a turbo? With a two bar MAP and new chip you'd be in business. The 1/4 mile times will be very comparable to a supercharger (if not better) and you won't have to chop up anything.
