The Cat converter was clogged on my 87 SE 2.5, so I had the cat cut out and a cherry bomb glass pack welded into its place. Can this cause the "Check Wallet Soon" light to come on?

Shouldn't the O2 sensor is in front of the cat. Some newer cars have rear O2's but not the Fiero drive away. My 86 has had a hollowed out cat for more than ten years no problems. do you have emisions checking in your area ??? if not don't worry

That's funny, "Check Wallet Light"! I think that light only comes with the NOS N*. On yours, you shouldn't have any problems although the exhaust might sound better and a bit louder.

Or is that "what's in YER wallet?"

(Answer: lots of receipts from the parts store)

Try actually pulling thge codes that are setting the SES light. Short terminals A and B of the ALDL terminal behind the cigarette lighter cover.
