Ive heard how much of a bolt in installation it is and read the stuff at the cave. Now I want to know if anyone has actually done it and what they think about it. Any hidden installation problems? How has it improved mileage? Has it held up well, ect.?

Note: the search feature on this topic has alot of "oh sure, lots of people have done it, its easy" but know one who actually has done it seems to reply.

Yes, it's been done. There are even pictures in some of the threads of finished rigs and where you may need to alter a couple slots on the cradle.

I don't have time to dig thru the search system. The info is in there. Don't forget to check the TDQ archive as a number of the older threads are there now. There is a link to one of the completed projects in the cave article.

The 4T60 is at least as strong as the TH125c. Probably stronger. Newer ones of both will be strongest. (Both transmissions were updated almost every year of production.) My understanding is that the 4T60 is also used in some of the minivans. There is also a slightly stronger 4T60 version that was made only for Cadilac Allante. (That car came with a V8.)

As I remember the "regular" versions of 4T60 used with other V6 cars are rated around 200FP of torque off the engine crank and 400FP at the input shaft. (this difference is because of the TC multiply effect.)
