I have this '86 5-speed Duke that I bought. I moved from Missouri to Mississippi in March of 2001, and left the Fiero in a storage locker in Missouri, thinking that I would come back and get it in a few months. It has sat there ever since! Like a chucklehead, I filled the gas tank before I stored it - and didn't put any fuel stabilizer in it before I left it.

I'll be going back to get it sometime this winter, and I'm wondering what I'm looking at in the gas tank? I assume that the fuel has turned to something close to marine varnish, and I'll probably have to drop the tank, drain it out, flush the fuel lines, and go from there.

But, I'm hoping that there might be another way... Any suggestions/ideas/comments are appreciated!

Might want to add some fuel stablilizer and some octane booster and swish it around by bumping into the car a few times......lol.
Good luck!

I'm with lurker...
Aside from putting stabilizer in it, you did the best thing possible by filling it. Will keep condensation to a minimum.
You might try a little bit of gas dryer or ethanol to absorb any water that may have formed, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. I let my coupe sit outside in the winter weather for nearly a year, under a cover. When I cranked it, it idled a bit rough for a few seconds, then settled right down.
The gas gauge was not happy. The indicator pointed toward the sky. But it had been terribly inaccurate before then, anyway.
