Well right now I have my whole interior completed the way I want it all black and red. Here is my question. I have the gray seatbelts still because I do not want to dy them black because they would probably fade after I while. Also i used dye on the seat belt holders where u snap the seat belts into cant think of the name hehe and it is starting to peel off already. Any ideas what paint I could use to keep it on the seat belt holder? I didn't think they sold them in black. Could a upholstery shop make me some new seat belts in black? Let me know what you guys think. See ya. Thanks.

Amir

Wow... What a great looking car. Is this a Fiero? Doesn't look like my 87GT.

I doubt a shop would attempt to make a set of seat belts for liability reasons. All belts must have a DOT approval label.

It seems to me like a set of seat belts from a Chrysler LeBaron convertable are much like the Fiero belts. You might look at them.

This has come up before.

Take a look at the thread NEED BLACK SEATBELTS.

Also, check with Ssnake-Oyl™ Products, Inc., but make sure they know you want them rewebbed in a different color from what was available OEM.

You will understand why after reading the above thread, but to make a long story short: I have an email from them dated 15 July 2002 stating they still reweb belts with double takeup reels (as the Fiero has--and I plainly stated in my email that the car in question was a Fiero). However, they may not be able to reweb them in a non-OEM color (see wcapman's post in the thread Black Seat belts?) because as wcapman posted,

quote
the lower winder will foul every time you wind it back. The webbing has to be a certain style and type, which they said was not available. If you use just any old black webbing you may have problems with the winder. This according to Snakeoyl. Now perhaps they just don't have the proper material and don't want to buy a small lot of it just to do a few Fieros.

Hope this helps.

edited for clarity.

The only hope on the latch is replacement. Anything you coat them with will flake or wear thru. Try digging thru other GM cars for the latch. GM likely used this type latch in other things. Try other things with bucket seats, like Camaro and Trans Am. You'll need a T50 Torx to remove them.

Yes, retractors are built with the web in mind. A small difference in the web material can do exactly what they are saying. You don't want to take chances with the wrong stuff.
