The passengers side mirror on my car only has one bolt in it. How do you replace this? From the way it looks, you can't since the bolts come from inside the mirror and its just a nut on the inside of the door.

Do I have to get a new mirror? (Haven't taken it off to examine it closely yet)

You're right - each side mirror is supposed to have 2 studs, and the mirror is held to the door using two nuts (use a 10mm box end wrench). I haven't ever had the trouble you describe (a stud missing), but would assume that when you remove the mirror, you will find there is a hole in the base to receive the stud. If so, you could just epoxy a stud in its proper place.

It's possible the stud fell down into the door - might want to look for it there. That way, you avoid an annoying rattle and also avoid having to fab a stud !

Had the same problem. I just drilled and tapped the hole to fit a stud I had lying around. Worked like a champ.

Hope this helps

Epoxy a stud in.
My wife recently backed the passenger mirror into my camper. The mirror was the easiest thing to take care of.
