I need pics of what the drain holes look like under the car (the ones under the seats) because the mecanic who is certifying my car said those holes need a plug for them. With my car, you can touch the rubber whic hhe said is the bottom side of the carpet. Is it supposed to be this way?
Thanks guys, btw its an 85 GT. Matt

negative, it's got jackstands under the frame. coincidentally i had just gotten done putting up a web page http://www.mtsu.edu/~mkr2c/fuelpump.htm of my fuel pump swap, and the picture was handy.
I wonder why my mecanic seems to think the holes need plugs in them. Those holes, when you go to feel them, is just rubber right? Which is the bottom side of the carpet?

The holes on the bottom of the car should have metal plates over them (not really plugs) They tend to rust out. If you don't replace them, the carpet will soak up water when it rains and start rotting out your floor boards. Mine were rotted on the Dirty Rat so I got some sheet aluminum and made plugs and caulked them into place under the carpet. Hope this helps.
