Both motors worked, but left motor had bad switch. Bought two new GM motors. Installed left motor; perfect operation! Installed right motor, even though old right motor worked fine. When connected, left went up and right went down. Continued to work that way. Put old right motor in, works fine, down and up with left motor. Did this Nov. 5; Halloween's over. What's up?
Thanks.

sounds silly but worked for me on my first Fiero. turn the lites on, crank up the one thats down manually. Then turn them off and they both should go right down. Like I said it fixed mine.

You know, I thought about that after I put the working motor on just to finish the job. When the weather gets better, I'll try it. Thanks for the response. Those motors and relays are a PITA when it comes to troubleshooting and fixing. Oh, to be wealthy enough to drive it to the dealer and say "Fix it, and call me."

I have never replaced anything with the motors... but reading enough posts about that exact thing happening, I think I know what it is.

One the one that is backwards, there is a magnet of something that need to beinstalled backwards or upside down or something like that... I'll try to find the posts..

ok I found a quote that seems to mirrow what everyone was saying...

in this thread: https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum2/HTML/025526.html
Rodrv6-
"I've had the same problem--Take the L/H [or R/H] motor out, open up the housing and rotate the magnet 180 degrees around the motor shaft. Don't pull the magnet off of the shaft, just rotate it and put everything back together. It should work now."
