What is the measurement of the bolt hole centers of the 2.8 torque strut? (Dogbone)

Anyone ever make a solid dogbone?

Jake, I can't help you with the dimensions, but a solid dogbone/strut? Aren't you going to be transmitting all kinds of vibrations to the metal parts of the dogbone & mount locations? Granted, the 2.8 isn't as bad as the 4cyl about vibrations, but still I don't think you will be happy with it, & there won't be anything to absorb the shock loads that the rubber or poly bushings usually do. I would think you would run the risk of teraring the mounts or brackets off after a while, as they are pretty prone to cracking to begin with. Just my opinion tho. Good luck with it.
Don

I need the dimensions so I can be sure to get the correct one. The one I have now requires me to pull the motor to get the bolt installed. I hope that when I put in the new motor mounts that it will work, but I think it is going to be about an inch too short. I don’t want to preload the new mounts so I need the dimensions. The solid mount was just a vent about a problem that brute force doesn’t seem to fix. Thanks MJ I know your right I’m just frustrated.

Jake
accordingto the Helms manual for 86 V6 you need to pry the engine toward the rear of the car with considerable force to install the dog bone.Who knows why "its a Fiero thing"

I measured my '86 V6 dogbone (with almost new poly bushings) and got 3 25/32 inches.

I got 3.75" so I'm pretty close to Mark.

I made a solid dog bone for my race car. Previous to this I had solid engine mounts and a polyurethane dog bone. There was a noticeable increase in vibration with the solid dog bone. It may be too much for a street car, but it's pretty easy to make if you have the right equipment so if you don't like it you won't be out too much time or money.
