I can pick up a 4.9 motor and trans w/wires and ecm for $400.00 at my boneyard but it's missing the injectors, fuel rail, and the distributor. Is this a big deal to find just these parts or should I keep looking for a whole motor??? It was hard enough to find the 4.9 motor. He only has one. I forgot to check the milage too, I was rushed, they were closing when I found it.

! If you dont buy it, I will! Sounds like a good price to me...unless the motor has like a cajillion miles on it. I'd go for it.

Thats a pretty good price for a good 4.9, go for it. You should be able to find the missing stuff pretty cheaply and easily. Of course, do all the usual "checks" when buying a junkyard engine.

What checks do you do when getting a boneyard engine?
