my 86GT will never be raced while I own it, will never have a Northstar installed. The occasional road trip, around town, out to lunch fun stuff like that. I need both shocks and struts and am leaning toward Monroe Sensatrak. Any thoughts...words of wisdom?

Given a choice between Gabriel and Monroe, the Gabriels go in the trash can.

Actually, Monroe and Gabriel are quite similar. If you get the premium gas charged shocks/struts, you can't go wrong with either. I have the Gabriel Red Ryders and they've been great. I believe Ogre uses them and claims they hold up well too. Other folks swear by the Sensatracs. Your choice.

Thanks for the input everyone. I was leaning toward the Monroes and that pretty much clinches it. Man what a resource this forum is.

I knew it was Ryder something or the other. Now that I think of it, maybe Red Ryder was that BB gun Ralphie wanted in the movie, "A Christmas Story".

Sensatracs suit me well too. The VST and the Sensatrac are probably pretty similar.

Years of experience have taught me that Monroe is a much better shock. I put Sensatracks on mine.........
