I know that the 88 V-6 factory final drive ratio is 3.33. Anybody know what the ratio is for the 88 Tech 4 was?

Thanks!

I wanna say 2.83? Something in that range.

Edit,

Just looked in the service manual.
Its 2.84

It shows that you could get a 3.33,3.06 or 2.84 ratios. There are about 50 different codes.

2.84 for most L4.

Apparently there are several sets of gears in the factory trannys but only three ratios. There are only three sets of aftermarket gears I could find. They all match the factory ratios.

it is like GM got it BACKWARDS
the 4 needs all the help it can get
and the 2.8 rev's to hi on hi-ways.
my 88 coupe with a swaped in V-6 is much
happyer at speed with its duke geared 125th
then my 87 seV6 auto was with stock gears, and not alot slower to get up to speed.

are the 3 ratios the only ones GM used on all cars with the th-125???

real answer is a 4 speed auto BUT GM WAS TOO CHEAP to use one in our cars, but feel free to swap one in if you want to.

Question wonder and be wierd
