Don't want to have to buy a whole set, so what size is the rather large torx bolt that secures the seatbelt latch (the part you actually click the belt into) to the floor? Thanks!

Bill

I think they're suppose to be T-47. It's an unusual size, I know. They usual don't come with a set. I found a T-45 to be too small, and the T-50 to be too big. But I have gotten the T-50 to work. Just had to tap it in there. This is the same with the actually seat belt bolts, and the striker bolts.

Mine are T-50 as well. It's a tight fit but that's how it's supposed to be.

I used a T-47 to take all my stuff out (had a friend that actually had the ratchet attachment) and used a T-50 to put all my stuff in. However, if you wan't a T-47 bit, I think the fiero store sells them.

The most correct would be a special torx socket, a specialty tool store would have it, called a t500 but a t50 will work with a wee bit of tapping to get it in if there is rust build up in the head of the bolt.

It's a T-47 fer sure.

Find a local parts place that sells "Lisle" products. They have one in there product line.

Mine was a T-50... or when I couldn't find that bit, I used the closest allan key I could find.

The seatbelt bolt takes a T-50 torx bit. I think that's pretty strandard for all GM cars of that vintage.

I wouldn't recommend using an allen wrench. Torx are a star config where and allen is a hex. You can easily strip out the bolt with a hex.

Its my understanding that the 88's use a T-50. The 84-87s use a T-47. I can confirm this with my 87 GT.

Once again the 88 bug bites. I used a T-50 in my 88 and worked fine.

I got my torx bits from Snap On, I got tired of busting my knuckles with cheap bits that slipped or broke! Those darn bolts can be tight.
