is 30mm offset to much? will they fir on my 86.

Wuzzy,

At a guess I would say that it would fit (depending on what size tyre you have). You are only altering the offset by 3-5mm from spec. Your wheels will protrude from the wheel well more (by 3-5mm) and as a side effect you may also be altering the suspension and steering geometry to some extent.

I've heard some folks going the other way. The stock offset is 35mm on a 7 inch wide rim. I've heard and seen photos of 40mm 8 inch rims (on the rear) but I understand they are larger diameter too to clear suspension parts (17-18 in)Don't think I'd go lower (rim sticking out more) too lowrider for me, and dangerous for the street.
