Getting ready for a power mirror installation. I want to route the harnesses properly and figure I need to remove the dash. Anyone have a good link (w/pics) where all the nit-noid screws etc are? Or any advise?

i can't remember off the top of my head where all the screws are nor do i have any pics ...but i have stripped the entire interior before and one of the best tips i can give you is to take your time and if something is not coming really easy ...look for more screws. and another thing, it makes the job 10 times easier if you remove your steering wheel....i just seems to get in the way all the time.

I just got done pulling mine last week. There are 2 screws under each speaker grill. Under the dash there are 2 big screws, one on each side of the car. They are right next to the ends of the dash. You also have to remove the Radio surround . that should just about do it. I pulled mine with the steering wheel in the car and I didn't have a problem.

Remove shift cover
Remove radio bezel
Remove pod
Remove metal plate that secures console support to dash
Remove speaker covers and screws (not the speaker screws)
Remove the 10mm screws under the dash at the lower corners
Remove the dash

Viola!

I don't remember everything involved, but you will have to disassemble both of your gauge clusters. There is 2-7mm screws under each speaker grill, and a 10mm bolt at each lower corner of the dash. You will have to remove the stock sub woofer to get to the one on the passenger side (if you have the performance sound option). I can't think of anything else, but its really not that hard, just a bit time consuming.

While the dash is out, if I were you I would replace the bass speaker (if you have one) and the heater core. It much easier to replace these when the dashed is removed.

Thanks Paul. Had not thought about that. I don't have the bass option, but the heater core would be a good idea. Is that something that can still be gotten from GM??

Thinking more about this, I ordered a new heater core this afternoon for pick up tomorrow. Even though the current one is still good, maybe this is good peace of mind. Thanks again Paul.
