Just picked up my first 4 cyl yesterday. Not a problem at all. Wasn't up to temp when I first got there and started it. Ran fine. Today it is raining and colder. I let it warm up for 5 mins then I left for work. It did have a consistant 1000-1500 RPM fluctuation. Is that a warming cycle?
Anyway, first gear seams fine, then I hit second and it wants to die the more I accel. Turn off onto a side street and try to recreate it. It seems better so I turn back on the main street and again...same thing. Then as it warms it slowly diappears.
Not sure if it's related to the rain or the fact that it was in cold loop operation. I would lean toward the later. What sensors might I start looking at?
Thanks guys.

cold starting cycle usually last 2-5 min. and is a constant 1500 rpm. does your check engine light come on?

That's a whole other story... That light is gone along with a few others. Maybe had something to do with the O2 sensor being gone! I'll have to post this pic when I get home but there was just the screw in part, no ceramic or anything left. I found the wire dangling with a few other parts not connected. I suppose the thing drove because it was in limp home mode.

Well here was the deal... at least part of it. Funny thing is now the gas milage is suffering. What do you think? Possibly a clogged cat?

ok first things 1st. replace the o2 sensor. check for codes usually you will get 2 or 3 of them. then disconnect the neg terminal on the batt to clear the codes then hook it all back up and run the engine to see if you get another engine light. if you have a stock cat I would replace it for the heck of it. let me know...

Yeah.. I already did all of that minus the cat. I've since hooked it up to the computer and have gotten rid of all the codes. I thought of the cat because of the gas milage thing. Doesn't the computer make the car run rich in an emergency state like that? I thought that probably fried the cat. I was going to pull it temporarily until I can get a replacement hi-flow from Summit or something.
