86GT 4spd 88k miles. Power steadly getting weaker.
*timing makes little diff in power * 11 sec 0-60 * runs much hotter than before * fuel mileage 20 instead of 26 as before * revs slowly in any gear except 1st of course. * new GM ign module * new tuneup.....complete * fuel pressure normal
I'm thinking clogged exhaust or cat conv, any other thoughts appreciated. Thanks guys!

Just wondering if you did a compression check when you did the tune up. This is what My daughters 2.8 did. (seems that it was the rings that finally gave out . not the crank or rod bearings... ) take care...PC

Well the back 3 cyl anyway....lol....all around 150
Hey Dude your getting more than your fair share of back pressure from somewhere . If it was running hotter than usual on the Hwy ,but the temp actually came down after you were off the Hwy and tooling around town , I'd check the cat . Something is bogging that engine down . Maybe the exhaust ? Clogged cats are known to make a car run hotter ,plus decrease fuel milage ,lose of horse power ETC .

Try disconnecting the cat and hook up one of those "test" pipes to see if you get any improvement. If you have the original cat in the car you should replace it anyway. Rodney, West coast Fieros, and the Fiero store have the high flow models available.

you can tell if your cat is blocked by feeling the exhaust come out tailpipes do a compression test. BTW a blocked or stuck egr valve will make the engine run hotter and loose power.
