I have an 85 GT and I am trying to figure something out. I looked in the haynes manual, and it says that the fuel pump test terminal is on the left side of the engine bay by the relays. The only thing that I can find is a yellow connnector comming out of the fuel pump area attatched to another connector. Is this where I apply the 12 volts to on terminal b of the yelllow connector? and If the Fuel pump still does not run, is it a faulty pump?
Thanks
Kyle

Remove the ALDL connector with a 15T torx bit and you will see the ALDL connector

The Fuel Pump diagnostic port is pin G which will be on the top row, furthest to the driver side. Run a wire with one end connected to any 12V source from the fuse panel ( or cig lighter ) to pin G and you will hear the fuel pump fire....

if the fuel pump does not come on the problem is the pump, period.

Doing this bypasses pin D and B in the fuel pump relay, the ECM relay drive which closes the curcuit inside the FP relay - essentially bypasses everything, all except the oil pressure switch, which at times can be at fault but I have found it to be a rarity

Kyle, I've look & looked for that connector in the engine bay & have yet to find it on my 84. I've read on here that it is often stuffed up in the insulation but I dug around & still can't find it. What Eric said will work just as well, tho.

Thanks everyone,
No one was responding earlier, so what I ended up doing was supplying voltage to the terminal at the relay which goes to the fuel pump. It did not turn on , so I figured it out.
Thanks again guys

I just finished removing a Duke and installing a V-6 in an 88. Swapped the entire engine harnesses. I didn't see *anything* that looked like a fuel pump test terminal.
Which is not to say it's not in the earlier cars, but still...

The "G" terminal in the ALDL connector worked well for me.

Well I figured out what happened. My problem was that the fuel pump was not getting power when the key was in the proper position. First off, when i was supplying 12 volts to the relay terminal the pump would not come on, as the yellow/black connector to the fuel pump was not hooked up. After that, the pump would power up if I sent 12 volts to it through the relay connector, but not when I turned on the key. I followed the schematic and stated tracing the problem with a multimeter, and figured that the only problem that it might still be was the ECM. Thats when I relaized that maybe I got the computers mixed up from the 86 to 85 swap. So I switched computers and VOILA!! It fired up. So what I am wondering I guess, is was it a faulty ECM or are the 85 and 86 not interchangable ECM's for the 2.8's. I never planned on using the 85 ECM, as I knew the 86ECM would be fine, but that just my Speedo might be a bit off, but I jsut got the computers mixed up.
Thanks
Kyle
