For starters, burp the baby and try a another thermostat.

Another thought, is it really overheating? The sending unit for the gauge can go bad and read high. Therefore, you may want to try another sending unit for the temperature gauge.

Is it really overheating? How are you assessing the condition?

Sounds like there may still be an air buble somewhere. Try searching for cooling problems in the archive and reading the Ogre's cave articles. This has to be one of the most covered problems. There are several threads on the go now about this.

Make sure that you have the proper caps as they should be non-vented. Some parts books wrongly list a vented cap part number.

Good luck. BTW mine has just started the same behaviour so it's goin' around.

First just spend 10 bucks or so and get all new caps. Then bleed out the air.

As indicated above. replace the caps. use the non vented radiator cap. make sure the recovery tank hose is good and the tank is filled to "ADD" when cold. (You're suposed to read the marks when hot....)

Also have the system pressure tested. make sure it holds pressure for at least 10 mintues. Even a pin prick leak spells trouble for Fiero. If it is leaking the #1 suspect after hoses is the heater core.

Assuming you don't have one of at least a dozen other problems....

The OE radiator size isn't your problem. It may however be full of sh_t. In what case I'd just replace the bloody thing. New Modine replacements aren't all that expensive. $179(us) I think someone recently told me for V6. You can get Modine thru many parts stores.
