I was driving home today and I went around a corner and heard something break or snap. Since then everytime I hit a bump in the road I get a weird clunking noise (Sounds like something is busted) up front as well as exargerated bump steer.
The car drives straight and when it is up to speed I hardly notice anything. It is only when going slow to moderate speeds over bumps that it clunks.
Any ideas?

Thanks

Took a look under there and it looks like I busted the lower link on the sway bar on the drivers side.
I guess it is time to upgrade to a beefier sway bar.
How bad would it be to drive around with it busted? I am kinda using it as a daily driver as my Jeep is SOL right now.
Thanks

If it's just the sway bar link and no steering components' you'll be OK. Look closely for any other parts that may be about to break. It would be a bad day when a tie rod breaks off at 50 MPH.

I had something similar on my '85, it turned out that the top passenger side shock mount had broken loose.

I jacked the car up and I have no play in the wheels at all, so I am sure the ball joints and tie-rods are ok.
I saw the busted lower link on the sway bar and bar metal where it had been rubbing so I am pretty sure that is the problem.
Can't afford to buy a new one right now so I have to live with the noise.

I had the exact same thing happen to me about 2 months ago on my silver '88, but it happened on the passenger side. New polyurethane replacement end links are about $15 at Pep Boys, they're a common part. It took me about 30 minutes to replace them both. The hard part was getting the old ones off, the new ones are easy to install.

How hard are the old ones to get off?
Any special tools required?
Mine are pretty rusty so I am sure they will be fun.

P.S. I called the local parts store and the end-link kit is $12 Canadian.
Ordered the kit.

My car is doing the same exact thing, But when i jacked it up I did not see anything wrong? The car was sitting for about 3 weeks during a engine swap so could it just be that it needs to be lubed?

They are cheap enough to replace and very easy to get off. Put a socket wrench on the hex & grab the shaft with a big pair of vise grips. It should just break apart.
