Have a (new to me) 84 2m4. Runs well but the shift light goes on and off while it's in fourth gear. I don't think I've ever seen it come in while going through the other gears. I know an option is to pull the bulb, but if I can get it to work right, that would be better. Any suggestions?

Well, it's controlled by the ecm......so pull the bulb or replace the ecm......so pull the bulb......LOL. That is, unless you're getting codes for a bad map sensor which is where the ecm gets it's info from.
