I haven't been able to find any information relevant to the stock GM Fiero ECM, and It's capablities and efficientness, when upgrading to higher flow injectors.
___I've found my stock injectors to have a resistence = ~16.0 ohms, and an advertised flow rating of 14.7 lbs/hr.

1.)If Fuel injectors are mildly upgraded to 19lb/hr, and similar resistance, will the ECM be able to decrease injector pulsewidth @ closed loop operation?

2.)Is there a "re-learning" procedure to follow, so the ECM learns the new fuel curve-Something similar to the procedure after the power disconnect when clearing stored faults from memory?

3.)Assuming that the motor runs a proper with proper A/F ratio, How far does the compensation range of the ECM go? If I run a nitrous set-up, and possibly a supercharger, will I need to go with a piggy back fuel-controller or would that require a "stand alone" unit?

4.)I guess it all boils down to-how much horsepower can the Fiero ECMs reliabibly support?

Well, I hope some of you forced induction guys can help me out. Until recently, I've only played with foreign EFI systems. There seems to be alot more aftermarket computer tuning suport for them...
...but what the hell?! I like the challenge!
THanks in advance,
Marcus

Well, er, if I collect all of those into one or two questions I can say:

1. The ECM can handle some pretty huge injectors. I don't see why 50#+ wouldn't work with the proper scaling of the base pulse.

2. The issue with larger injectors is controlling them at low pulse widths (which is why there is a low pulse width compensation table.

If you are taking about the BLM range if you throw different injectors in there, I'd have to look but I believe upper limit is 150 and lower is 108 so do the math.

Certainly, 19's aren't a problem.
