Jerky cruise control fixed by 30+mpg

While back I requested info on how to fix a cruise control that would "drop out" after about 20 minutes at speed. It would self disengage. The recommended fix was to replace the vacuum diaphram unit. $$$!

Instead, I removed & disassembled it last Sat. Inside , I found some minor dirt and corrosion. Cleaned things up and ressembled using a coating of RTV silicone rubber on the 3 O-rings.

Results: No more jerkiness and no drop out, all with no $$$ leaving my pocket!
