I have a 86 Se 2.8 and it seems lately that it doesn't want to idle. Upon start-up it will die if you don't give it a burst of throttle. After that it will idle at about 1k till it warms up and then it proceeds to drop to about 500 or less rpm. It won't stay running for long unless you hold on the throttle. I'm not getting any check engine light. What gives? TIA

Just went through that. I replaced the coolant temp sensor and the incoming air temp sensor (in the air filter housing). Cleared it right up. I am assuming the incoming air temp sensor (sometimes called air charge sensor) was the culrpit.

I also replaced the 02 sensor, but I don't think that had any affect on the idle. It wouldn't hurt, though.
