The white wire coming from the Coil pack on my 88 coupe 4cyl is the tach wire right? So to hook up an aftermarket tach I would connect the aftermaket tach wire to the white wire from the coil pack right? (that would obviously involve splicing the wire)
I really don't want to mess up my ignition because the tach looks cool. Any advice.

Yep white wire is tach signal and you shouldn't be able to mess up your ignition by splicing into it. CYA!!!!!
