I want to get rid of the side molding and make the body smooth. Can I just remove the molding and fill it in without having problems? Just remove them and fill it in with bondo, right?

Does anyone have pics of this?

Uh uh! There is quite a bit of stress where the top and bottom body panels join. If you fill with bondo, it will crack after going over your first bump, if it even makes it that far. Fiberglass *may* work, but good luck. The special epoxy for plastic body panels would probably be your best bet, after filling most of the depth with old body panels cut into strips... But, all your attatchment screws are under the moulding too, so cover those up and you'll never get any body panels off short of sawing them off or drilling holes to find the covered screws.. Sounds like fun... Would be a nice look I think, but lots of work..

ohhhhh yeaaaaa LOTS O WORK!!!!!
The only way you could be like ol smooothGT is to say your showing up at a show then cancel at the last min.! lol
Really keep in mind that when you do fill in the moldings, that you will not be able to get the panels off again.
He also said that there were several coats of glass used. VERY BIG JOB. take your time and have fun with it. SmoothGt will chime in here soon...he has been very busy with his projects around the house lately.
Let me know if you need some help.
Kevin
