First off allow me to say I am SERIOUSLY considering this for an option. Im not the most expirienced Fiero Mechanic (or mechanic at all for that matter)... but I was just wondering this...

is it possible to have a crate LT1 that produces 425HP, put it in a Fiero, add a Turbonetics T88/78 Twin turbo at 25psi. Add a Vortech Supercharger and a Venom NOS dual shot (2 10# tanks) at 100hp gain per shot?

is this idea worth merit first off?
I know cancelation is a problem so I was wondering if there is a pressurized air intake or if it COULD be fabricated.
Third can the engine handle that amount of power?
Fourth would there be too much air as opposed to fuel and if so can the fuel output be increased to the point where it would run and not blow up?

what would be needed to pull this off? I think, if it ran, it would be a true tire burner...BTW the point is to make this a STREETABLE car...

I know this is a funny sounding idea, and I hope that I dont get humiliated by posting this. It was just something i am curious if it CAN be done

Thanks

Matt

Let me get this straight. You want an LT1 with twin turbos, a supercharger and nitrous??? And you still want a streetable car? Ain't gonna happen even if you could do all of that. Have you ever ridden in an LM1 (270hp crate motor) powered Fiero? I have. Trust me. You don't need much more than that. I honestly believe you could cook any tires you can fit on the car with just that motor (stock).

The LT1 made the Vette a screamer and it weighs at least a grand more than a Fiero. Just give your car and wallet to Archie and tell him to make you smile. He'll do the rest.

God all that...

How about a sequential 6-speed tranny, mated to a T58-GE-8F turbine.
Using a surplus US Air Force helicopter turbine and a speed decreaser gear-box (SDG)
It weighs 350 lbs and produces 1,370 hp @ 6000 rpm!

And you still want a streetable car?

Hopefully not necessarily one thats a daily driver,,, but one that will cook ANYTHING on the road today. but if its not oh well.

The only problem is that a LM1 Fiero HAS been done... I was also wanting originality

I planned on that!!! I was just wanting to know if its even possible to do all three, a VERY rough guess is about 1000 HP, 650Ft. LBS Torque. I was wanting to take it to Carlisle(sp?) AND to enter the USCC to prove that American muscle IS still and ALWAYS will be the best... Good idea for a secondary engine though

Possible? probably with a deep enough pocket.

Question is the "streetable" part and "why?"
Just to have the fastest car?

What street would you dive it on? Not enough space to reach speed, never mind safety or legality (obeying speed limits).

Draven It has been my experience that with enough time money and research anything is possible.....lol. Start reading and see if you can convince yourself that it is doable. Once you get that far its just a matter of bolting everything together.

When you get your custom super heavy duty tranny made, sell the design so all the V8 owners can do group buys.

I'd rather spend the money on a Ferrari. Its gonna cost you at least $50gs. Dont get me wrong here though, I would love to see this be done. You would have the baddest meanest Fiero ever. I'm thinking though, just an LT1 with a single Turbo and MAYBE NOS would be good enough. It would still be the baddest meanest Fiero ever.

at the kind of power you wont go fast at all. You will not hook up. short of having slicks and wheelie bars that power wont be put the the ground. a 425hp lt1 will get you probably low 12's with good susp and tires to help you hook up.
