I replaced both sides on mine recently. I used rivets to fasten the body panel back on. In order to get it off you will need to take the side ground effect off (it runs underneath the door) and if you look on top of the effect directly underneather the door there should be a couple of long removable pieces of platic(I believe they are rectangular and black), pop those off by prying gently on the short side of the clips. Once those are off their should be a few screws to remove. Then you will need to remove the front lower trim piece (just behind the front wheel well, directly on top of ground effect) I don't remember exactly how to detach them but I do know they are clipped on by two plastic clips, you may be able to remove the ground effect from the trim piece without having to remove the trim piece. I do know that the ground effect is attached by built in platic clips (similar method as a buckle works) that clip into the bottom of the wide-lower trim pieces. Directly above the quarter panel is a thin piece of black trim that can be removed by unscrewing the screws on each side of it(inside of passenger door just above striker bolt, and inside the wheel well) then pop it off. All the screws that attach the wheel well to the quarter will need to be removed.
If you are careful you will not need any spare parts, I would recommend having some rivets (larger) around just incase, but then again thats how I would do it. Keep in mind that on an 84 se I once used duct tape to hold the hood on
good luck and remember, BE CAREFUL! The clips break easily especially when you're pissed
