My 86 SE has been running great. The other day I got a service engine soon light. I got home checked the error code. It was a 32. So the egr valve had been replaced about 2 years ago so I removed it, cleaned it (not too dirty) and put it back. Cleared the ECM and everything worked fine. Two days later the light comes on again, but this time the engine dies. It will not start. Get the car home Tow... Start the car it runs fine. Then as the tempurature gets around two hundred it dies again. Like someone turned off the ignition.

Anyone have any ideas on this?

Replace the pick up coil and iginition controle module in your distributor. Very common problem and relativly easy fix. Autozone carries both.

I have a 85 fiero and I had a similar problem. The fuel filter would leak and when the car was running for about 10 minutes the car would die and would not restart until the car cooled down. Just check and make sure your fuel filter is tight and is not leaking.

Many thanks to MY7FIEROS and Devotshka ( from the archives). The coil pickup assembly was like saw dust and the vacuum line from solenoid port y to the centre of the solenoid switch had 7 pinholes in it. No more code 32 and I'm running all day.

Is there such a thing as a steel vacuum line kit for a 2.8 or is this a saturday afternoon with a tube bender type of thing.

Thanks again
