Replaced the TCC selenoid with the GM replacement part and still no RPM drop difference as compared to before the replacement.

Runs at a hair over 3000RPM at 65MPH now and before.

I am open to ideas or thoughts.

Oops. Car is the '84 SE

The new solinoid may be wired backwards.... Several people have found that happens with replacements. (There is a diode in the solenoid. It matters how it's hooked up.)

Could also be a bad brake pedal switch. you can test that with a light... One terminal of the TCC harness that plugs into the tranny should be hot any time the key is on and go dead when you press the brake.

Thanks for the quick response Ogre.

Prior to starting this project I did all the electrical tests and all came out OK indicating the selenoid was bad.

If it's wired backwards can I just reverse the two wires on the outside of the tranny case or do I have to go back inside and cut and splice?

Thanks
