Ok, so I have an 88 coupe with out pw/pl and I have a set of doors that came from and 84 coupe that have pw/pl. Question is, can I put these doors on my 88? I've heard that 88's without the power options still have the harnesses for the options though, is this true? If anybody has ever done this before and has any notes or diagrams about it please let me know! I'd like to get this done as soon as possible.

Well, you can tell if you have the correct cross car harness for the locks and windows by looking up under your passenger footwell, to the right of the chime box, and seeing if there is a silver power lock relay right there or at least 2 or 3 connectors (can't remember if there are 2 or 3) for one to plug into. Or you could pull up your shift surround and look for the power window switch connectors under your blank black panel.

If you are going to have to get the cross car harness for the windows and locks, make sure you get one that came from a car with the third brake light. There are two connectors in the area behind the IP that changed when the third brake light was added.

I completely removed the dash when I swapped in power locks and mirrors, made it very easy. The mirrors are on a completely different harness, by the way.

I added PW and PDL to my 88 Formula, and there was no wiring for it in my car. I pulled the entire harness out of a junkyard car, and removed the window and lock actuators from the doors. This was not only cheaper, but I did not want to have to worry about the possibility that swapped doors would not be lined up properly. The rivets are aluminum so they are really easy to drill out with a 1/4" drill. I also bought the rivet tool (~$40) and a box of factory replacement rivets so there's no way to tell my install from the factory one. (Except by looking at the RPO codes.)

Let me know if you want any more details on this.

I have done the swapping with power locks and mirrors. My one concern is if you take the outter door skin off and try to put in on an 84 that it won't work? Something on the top by the window for the skin to latch onto the whole top section is made different in the panels that will not allow the 85+ door skin to fit on the 84. I had one 84 and I believe that this was a problem someone correct me if I am wrong but I do believe if this is wat you are to do then that would be a problem that you would run into.
