As I posted yesterday in the current seat options thread, I installed a pair of seats from a 92 or 93 Grand Am into the 84. I used the Fiero rails. Here's the problem:
The suds on the floor line up, but both seats seem to rubb the console area a little too much for my liking, & I'm afraid they will leave a marr on the console. Plus, they seem to look like the seats are not sitting exactly square with the rest of the car, both seem to have the front of the seat skewed to the outside. Anybody have a fix for this? Also, I'm looking for an easy, but attractive install for speakers, since I no longer have them in the seat backs. Thanks.

Don:
I tried seats from a Prelude with the same results. Kind of a tight fit.

The floor studs are offset about 1 notch so I set the runners on the bottoms of the seat accordingly. Helps with the crooked look a bit.

The handiest spots for speakers are the location of the newer 4x6's in the pillar, or I think 4x10's will fit low in the piller where the vent is now.

Ahh haa! I knew something wasn't right. I'll see what that offset looks like, otherwise, I'll have to make some slots in the runners. Thanks for the info about the runners & the speakers,
