Ok , I'll answer myself ! Found this in Ogre's Cave . STF, Synchromesh Transmission Fluid, GM Part Number 12345349, 1 US Quart.

You had it right...syncromesh is the only way to go for the Getrag. It's a little pricey, but well worth the results it gives. If I recall correctly, it takes 2.1 quarts; I bought three and have a near-full spare for peace of mind and because I check it all the time.

Yes, GM Synchromesh all the way.

Everybody I'd asked said that it either worked the same or quite a bit better (with the majority saying 'better'), so I went for it - I love it. I'll never use anything else.

Much smoother, and I am amazed to realize that I have never had to grind it into reverse the way that was the norm before I put the Synchromesh in.

Go for it - in the long run, what's an extra few dollars now to make a probable improvement?
