For those of you who have it; How long more or less does it takes to install? Any major complication? I would like to put one in my car before Daytona but I'm running out of time. Thanks

My car came stock with cruise, but I have run FACTORY GM Cruise control assemblies on GM cars that did not originally come with them. My opinion? Go find a GM vehicle, grab the cruise computer, the wiper stalk with cruise buttons, and the servo assembly. Get ALL of the wiring you can, and if you DO have to cut the wiring, be sure to get as long a pigtail as you can...

As for the Audiovox cruise, I have installed them. Once you get the hang of it, they can be done in under 2 hours. But, if it is your first time, give yourself a good 6 hours.

Thanks Synthesis.

Does the Audiovox unit comes with the vacuum canister? Otherwise, does it come with all the components you need? Or do I need any junkyard part? Thanks.

All the ones I put in, were purchased by the customers elsewhere. As far as I can remember, most of them came with the servo assemblies. A Vacuum canister is highly recommended. My factory cruise is running directly off of my intake manifold. While this does cause my cruise to jump hard when I set it, it also causes the the cruise to reduce speed, or shut off entirely during high way speeds when the engine RPMs fall below 1800.... A Vacuum canister will solve this problem for me, but I am too lazy to fix it LOL.

Stupid question, what's a vacuum canister and what does it do?

Thanks

I had to return (exchange) the thing because it didn't have the wiring harness. Anyway, for the stick shift it says to use the tach wire only. Does anyone use the VSS too in the 5 speed installation? Does our cars has a VSS signal? I guess so. TIA
