I wanted to take out the cruise control can and wiring, vaccuum lines, etc. (doesn't work.)
How do you properly plug, or remove the vacuum hoses going into the can, they seem to go around the engine compartment. I don't want no stinkin' vacuum leaks!!
How about the wiring? Roll up, tuck away?

pull the can out too.. and just cap the metal tube thats on the fire wall.. roll the wires up and zip tie them in the innerfender well under the air cleaner. (thats what i've done on 4-5 of them .... just night befor last did the to MylesF7s 85 GT.
NONONO, just cap the single vaccume line that you need to remove for the cruise. It should be a "T" intersection with the two metal lines that wrap around the engine bay. And YES you do need those two metal lines

OK.. so if I completely take out ALL cruise control equip in engine compartment by trunk area, (the can and that diaphragm thingy, cable going to throttle), I then cap the metal lines right there, where that stuff was, where the two rubber hoses that go into can are?
Guess what I'm getting at is, I would like to not have any of the cruise stuff in engine compartment. It would make it much easier to check the tranny fluid with that junk gone, if it's not needed.
Thanks....

If it wasnt -30 out id go and take a picture for ya.
Its really much simpler than you think. You will have no cruise crap left in the engine bay. If i was you id just take it all out and things will become apparent.
Just cap off the main vaccume line that feeds the cruise. Only the one feed goes into the cruise, everything else will come out with the cruise.
