When I bought my Formula a couple of years ago, The prior *abusive* owner had a WallyWorld 'N'Everstart75 in the battery tray. Cold weather here finally killed it, thank goodness.
Following my battery instinct, and in a moment of NASCAR weakness, bought Bobby Labonte 'Interstate MT75'. Lots of cold cranking amps! Bye-Bye dimming lights and longer crank times!
Found out the MT stands for 'MegaTron' I waited and watched, but it never Transformed into anything I told the rep that their next line-up should be the 'Interstate MMP' = MightyMorphinPower!
So here's the question: What battery are you running, or want to run in your Fiero?

After the original Delco died, I've had a couple of Die Hards in my 87. Leaving the battery connected up over the long winter killed the first one, so #2 is unattached.

I have a "WallyWorld 'N'Everstart" in my fiero . Was the cheapest I could find at the time. I think it was 30 something dollars. Yes it is terrable. Car slowly cranks and it seems to go dead very easily. I have probably killed it twice allready.
Once it dies I have a nice cheap canadian tire battery to replace it. lol

ya'll know there are only 2 manufacturers of batteries, right? Exide and Interstate. They sell lower-end stuff different companies for those companies to sticker and sell, IE: Everstart's, and Motomaster's. Personally, I have a Motomaster, 'cause that was in it when I bought the car, and what still had 1/2 replacement warranty on it when it died.

I have an AC Delco in my Fiero and it works great. Always reads over 12.6 volts, I do use a Battery Tender though. I have an Energizer in my GMC van. I left the lights on the other day for 3.5 hours came out and it started right up. I was amazed.

I have an Exide Orbital (deep cycle& starting, blue top) from NAPA. It's a spiral-wound design like the Optimas. (only dry so less weight)
I think it was aobut $160, but WELL worth it. My car will start *every* time, even after I leave the headlights on all night.
And it's the lightest battery out there.
I like these better than the Optimas. Infact I have them in ALL of my cars.
Best! Ben.
