I'm thinking of filling in the "Pontiac" text on the headlight door. Has anyone done this, and if so what method did you use?
Thanks!

I've thought of using vinyl on mine a few times.

Dunno otherwise...

I filled mine in with a Bondo type product just last week. It's holding for now but I bet there's a better way to do it.

I ground around it and inside with a grinder to remove all the paint and filled it in with a plastic body biller.

I filled mine with the flexible repair material designed for flexible panels. It is a two part epoxy type material.

You got a part number or some kind of ID for this material? Would it work for the rear where Pontiac is embeded on the back like on an 84?

As far as I know, flexible body repair stuff is epoxy. I bought a kit at AutoZone.

I believe the headlight door is Sheet Molding Compound (= fiberglass), so polyester filler ("Bondo") should work OK. That's what I used on mine:

Yup, I'm talking about eliminating/hiding it. I will leave all the "Fiero" badges on the car but I really don't want Pontiac's name on it. Why advertise for a company that cancelled our favorite little cars for dubious reasons???
I'll try grinding out the paint from inside the letters and then filling it with filler. So, fiberglass resin does stick to SMC? or should I use the epoxy flexible repair stuff?
Thanks,
BobC
