My driver's side latch has some play in it when it's supposed to be latched which is causing the infamous rattle. I saw in the archives where someone had used one off of a Buick. Does anybody have the part #'s for the latches? The guy at the junk yard said they would be $40 and I'm wondering what new ones would cost. Or is this something I can fix? Also, I need to replace the ajar switch on the pass. side. Does anybody still sell these? All for an 87 GT. Thanks ahead of time.

If your door is loose on the latching stud, it can be moved some, to make it not rattle. May take a dremel to get it all. I've never done it tho.

Forget the Fierostore....call Criswell Chevrolet in Gaithersburg, MD (888) 466-9101, for parts at Dealer cost price. I just ordered this same door ajar switch for $15.00....expensive little sucker!!

Thanks for the advice maryjane, but I'm pretty sure my problem is in the latch moving when it's not supposed to. I don't think moving the striker will help (although I admit I could be wrong).

Thanks for the ajar switch info, now how about the latch replacements/part #???
