The tired old question of which engine to swap with. I want to get rid of the 2.5 in my 85 with the 5 speed and want to put in a V-6. NOt concerned about emissions, just want the least amount of fuss and good power. I am doing the job myself and I work on cars a lot and race one, so I am not worried about the mechanics. Let me know what has worked best for you out there! Thanks

Hey rnoswal!
All depends on what you consider best...
NA, turbo, SC, max cubic inches?
I desided on the NA 3800 series I...

I want to go GM V-6, 3.1 or 3.4 or 3.8? but V-6! Any one of these or easy V-6 swap. There are plenty of V-6's in the junkyards here so I want the ones that will be best mechanic wise and electronic wise. Thanks

Well the 3.1 would probably the easiest as it's almost a straight bolt in apparently. But it doesn't offer much of a power improvement over the old 2.8. The 3.4 is better power wise but is a bit more work as it requires moving the starter to the opposite side of the engine and then drilling and tapping the block. The 3.8 is a lot more complicated as it requires a fair number of modifications but will offer the most power short of a V8. Any of these choices will require a new engine wiring harness plus an ECM from a V6 fiero. And a new fuel pump.
