I've got an '84 SE and I'm trying to figure out where the rear popper gets plugged into the rest of the harness.

There are currently no wires attached to the deck lid.

Does anyone know roughly where on the wiring harness the wire(s) would plug in? The solenoid works, I tested it with a jumper wire.

Also, are there supposed to be two wires from the solenoid? As it is now, it's not grounded. I had to run a seperate ground wire when I tested the solenoid.

Thanks!
Anton

The solenoid gets its ground from the trunk latch when it is closed.

The wire connector on my 85 and 87 were near the firewall on the passenger side of the engine compartment.

On my 85 SE, the connector is on the drivers side, at the firewall, right next to the lid hindge. It is a black, square connector with one wire going to it.

Thanks guys!

As soon as I get the kids in bed I'll go see what I can find. I guess if all else fails I'll just run a wire from the switch all the way back.

I wanted to avoid doing that since it clutters things up and isn't exactly fun

Thanks!
Anton

My 84 se, with elec deck lock solenoid: The wire runs up just to the outboard side of the LEFT(drivers side) decklid hinge. It travels up inside the decklid, to the ssolenoid. There is a connector just to the firewall side (Front of eng compartment) of the hinge. Only one wire, the solenoid is grounded by the latching loop when the lid is closed, as stated above. PM me if you have any questions, I'll check mine for the wire color.
