when i turn the engine on, the engine light comes on and stays on until i shut the engine off. this started as i was driving home today.

the car jerks & hesitates the entire time.

I get code 22 and code 24 from the ecm

code 22 is Signal voltage low
code 24 is short or open in spark or ecm

is there any quick tests i could do??, I don't have ohm meter

22 is throttle position sensor voltage low and 42 is hmmmm something to do with no dist. signal to the ecm (computer). It's probably an ign. module....but with both codes, I'd bet it's a bad ecm but check the fuses first.

It's weird, now the car runs fine

It has done this before, the engine light comes on and the engine goes south, but as soon as I pull over to check the problem out, the car "magicaly" runs perfect.

I've taken it to a mechanic twice, both times the mechanic has told me "there is nothing wrong with your car".

???

Intermittent problems can be the most difficult to diagnose. I suggest you check the components related to the codes and the wiring harness as well. A little tenacity and you will find the problem.
