I know this is probably the highest wear area of the interior. On my other car I put a carbon fiber kit just to correct that but I like the dot matrix pattern. Does anyone sells any paper or laminate to fix the shifter plate? Any ideas other than buying one in better shape? Thanks.

what dot matrix are you referring to? Must not be original.

The 88's had dash and console panels that had a grey dot matrix pattern (marked on the back of the panel as 'grey microdot').

I'm not aware of any 'fix' for this to restore the original pattern. Sorry... :\

No theres no way to "restore" them...of course that all depends on what you mean. If its just the vynle seperating, thats no biggie...easy fix. But if it the actual "plate" part (the part w/ the grey microdot) thats scratched of wearing off, then no, not much you can do.
Ive often though about a way to reproduce these..but I really dont have the resources to do it. Perhaps Rodney Dickman or fierodave or someone in the biz can come up w/some reproductions.

Yeah I'm talking about the 88 plate. I think someone with the right resources may be able to scan the design and make a print in vinyl sticky paper or something similar. Just like the carbon fiber paper they sell. I think is a good business opportunity.
