Headlights lift the hood? by Cplensdorf

OK...Ive got an 88 GT and just got rid of an 86 SE with the same problem. When the headlights are lifted, the hood is slightly lifted on both sides in the front. I cannot see exactly what is lifting the hood, but I assume it is seriously working against the motors when the headlights are going up. Can't be good for them. Ideas?

The HL doors have pretty stiff springs.....

To see if it's just the doors or something else, measure how high they are with the lights on. Then shut off the lights and pull the doors up to the same height by hand.

There is some adjustment in the HL lift where the assembly bolts to the car. If the lift is sitting a little to high it might also cause this. You could try loosening the 4 nuts and letting the lift assembly drop straight down a little bit.
