Ok while driving sometimes my blinkers would work fine other times they were slow as heck!

Any tips on this and yes I changed the bulbs up front and got a different flasher about 1 ½ ago.. could it possibly be a bad flasher?

When's the last time you've changed the blinker fluid?

The next time they act slow... if you can, leave them on, pull over, and check the bulbs are all on. An intermitant lamp or ground could do this.

Yes, it could be the can or the alternator, but it sounds more like the above. DEfinatly check the charging system anytime there's an electrical problem.

When it is happening, watch your Volt gauge and see if it too is going whacky.

Something to consider....

It might be overkill but I usually sweep the whole set of exterior lights every so many years or when I get a differant car. It's not very expensive and I know all the sockets, lamps, and the wire near them is ok. Tracking down intermitant lamps is a pain in the butt.

The regular lamps, the whole set, usually is less than $20... The high mount brake bulb, if you have it runs $6.50 to $10 depending where you get it. Cheapest place I've gotten lamps is Wallmart. The high mount bulb was under $7 there. was $9.99 at shlep boys.

A front or back light bulbs are obvious to most people but don't overlook the front side marker. that's tied into the turn signals too.

If you drive slower when the blinkers blink slow the ratio of blinks/distance traveled will remain the same ergo they are no longer slow. Merry Christmas!!!!!

There are two kinds of flasher units, the cheap ones that GM puts in their cars, and the heavy duty ones ment for towing a trailer.

The cheap ones will barely work if one bulb isn;t working, because they rely on the current going to the bulbs to heat up the switch and "blink" it.

The Heavy duty ones have a built in circuit that operates the "blink" and heavier contacts to handle extra load so they wont burn out too soon.

You could put a heavy duty one if you dont want to spend time looking for the bad bulb.
