I've been running Mobil 1 for a while now in all my vehicles, including my beloved Fiero.

Anyone know if STP oil treatment, Restore or any of those other additives will mix with synthetics? Or should I stay away. I know everyone will have an opnion so lets hear em!

I have an 88 truck that used conventional oil, burned a little oil (blue smoke at first start up) but seemed to run quieter and smoother, with no smoke, when Restore was put in it a couple years ago.. I switched to Mobil 1 this year.

Please send me all the money you want to spend on oil additives. Most additives are a waste of money, and yes, most all oils will mix with other oils. STP is just a heavy weight oil.

Mobil 1 is just fine by its expensive self.

NO! NEVER mix any additives with any synthetic oils.

For example, Slick50 and Valvoline mixed makes oil with the consistancy of cold molasses.

A few years ago the local canadian tire store mixed synthetic oils with additives, and several people had seized engines within 60 miles.

Alot of people got fired over that, as they had to go good for these engines.
Needless to say, they didn't mix synthetic oil with anything after that.

SKIP the addatives. They're junk, all of them. Go with a good weighty synthetic (mobil 1 15-w50 is good in older oil-burners, in temprate climates only)

Best!
Ben.
